This Term
At Cardiff C.U, we do not wish to take the role of a church, but rather to exist as a mission team to campus. As a committee we believe it is important to make this distinction clear. One way to do this is through the equipping/teaching/training we receive each week. Our main desire is to see people fired up for evangelism and to help them find the means and opportunities to go out and do it.
Look below at our termplan from Freshers Week until Christmas
We want to see people deeply involved with God, in love with Jesus, inspired by what he has done, understanding that His victory is absolute and excited by grace. We want the guys and girls in C.U. to be so impacted by the Gospel that they desire to share it in its fullness. We don't want them to feel motivated by guilt, or pride, or peer pressure.
Therefore, we are looking for teaching which is specific to us as a mission team, rather than covering a wide range of issues like a church does. We are excited about looking at the incredible ways God moved in the book of Acts and how the first believers were used by Him, and we are hungry for this to happen in our mission at university. Through these talks, we would love to:
- Learn more of God's character and capabilities. We want to be amazed and full of love for the God we serve, so that this fuels our evangelism
- Grow in our understanding of how the people in Acts relate to the people we encounter at university.
- Gain practical applications relevant to the situations we find ourselves in at university.
Hopefully the reality that every person is loved and reachable by God will be placed, replaced or reinforced in our hearts as the term goes on!
